How Do I Choose A Windows And Doors Installer?

Depending on the size and layout of your house, replacing your windows and doors can prove to be quite costly. When it comes to spending such a substantial amount of money, how do you decide who to hire? Here are some tips to help you choose the right windows and doors company:

    1. Google Search Windows and Doors Companies

Google has proven to be the first step for users when deciding on hiring a local contractor. Most people generally go through 3 or 4 company websites before doing any further research. When going through a company website, search for before/after pictures, customer testimonials, head office location and types of windows and doors available.

To further check credibility, see if their website links to their social media pages and look at the last time they have posted anything on Facebook, Instagram or any other social media platforms. A company that posts often will have plenty of pictures of the work they have done which shows you that they are busy and trusted by other homeowners. Let’s not stop there.

    1. Read their Google Reviews

Once you have identified a couple of companies you feel will be a good fit for you, go through their Google reviews.

A few things to check here:

    • The number of reviews
    • The score
    • The content of the reviews

You don’t want to hire a company that has only 3 Google reviews. Generally, the more the better but I would be happy with 20+ Google reviews. The Score is obviously important but sometimes the score itself can be deceiving so I recommend actually going through and reading the comments in the good and bad reviews. A bad review does not necessarily mean a bad company or vice versa. If you find that multiple clients are complaining about the same issue then you can say that the integrity of the reviews is high.

    1. Check Out Reviews on Other Directory Websites

Outside of Google, you can go and read HomeStars reviews, Facebook reviews and any other review platform that you are comfortable with. You can even go to google and search Company X reviews and see what you find. As a conclusion, before you let someone come to your house and quote you, do your research, read reviews and be thorough.
