Commercial flat roofing systems come in many different varieties. It is ultimately up to you to choose the sort of roof for your company, but some roof types do benefit some buildings more than others.

Let us try to explore what are the various options available for industrial flat roofing membranes installation for your commercial or industrial building.

    EPDM membrane roofing

Ethylene propylene diene terpolymer commonly called EPDM is a certain synthetic rubber black membrane used mostly in commercial and medical facilities.

This roofing is easy to install, durable, light, and inexpensive. However, may not be aesthetically too pleasing. Also, it can increase the building temperature. It may also get punctured and water damaged.

    TPO membrane roofing

Thermoplastic polyolefin also called TPO membrane is a white membrane suitable for both commercial and residential roofing applications.

It is lightweight, cost-effective, corrosion resistant, and prevents mildew or algae growth. But it might be prone to catching fire..

Its laminated top layer may craze, shrink, crack, and deteriorate. They come in small rolls; hence several seams are needed, which may weaken your roof.

    PVC membrane roofing

Polyvinyl chloride or PVC is a single-ply white membrane meant for commercial and residential roofing. PVC roofing is resistant to chemicals, wind, and moisture. Also, it is lightweight, flexible, and eco-friendly.

However, it is a bit expensive material. Also, may shrink over time, which may pull the seams and may cause leaks. Older PVC roofing is susceptible to shattering and puncturing during winter, which is difficult to repair.

    SPF membrane roofing

Spray polyurethane foam is energy-efficient, lightweight having a good tensile strength. With proper maintenance, it can last longer. It can also offer enough insulation.

However, it needs professional installation and can be a little expensive.

    Asphalt rolled roofing

Asphalt rolled roofing can be quite an inexpensive roofing material that can be installed easily. However, its life expectancy is relatively smaller, typically lasting only 10 years. Also, needs more maintenance and repair as compared to other roofing materials. It is not too energy-efficient either.

The price per square foot dramatically drops as you work on bigger commercial projects.
